Find Sanctuary at Salty Lodge Samoa
A place set apart. A place to be still.
Beside the ocean in Sologa, Salty Lodge is an adults-only sanctuary created for rest, reflection and renewal.
This is a place where life slows down. Where there is room for quiet, prayer, conversation and connection. A place to step away from the demands of everyday life and simply breathe.
Our Christian faith is at the heart of Salty Lodge, and all are warmly welcome.
Come for rest. Stay for the stillness. Leave renewed.

Why Salty Lodge Exists
About Us
Salty Lodge Samoa exists because of a journey of faith.
Before the property was purchased, Karleen and Derek stood at the boundary fence and prayed over the land. From that moment, they declared that this place would be used for God — a place of restoration and peace.
Karleen and Derek are believers who have personally experienced the transforming work of the Lord in their own lives. Because of this, their heart has always been that this land would become a place where others can encounter that same restoration — a place to step away from the pressures of life and spend meaningful time with God.
Salty Lodge was never intended for commercial tourism. Instead, it is being restored as a place of Christian hospitality where people can come for rest, prayer, worship, reflection, fellowship, and the breaking of bread together.
The journey of restoring the lodge has been one of faith. God has faithfully provided what was needed to rebuild and restore the property step by step. While the work is still ongoing, we continue to see His provision and guidance along the way.
One of our prayers for the future is the completion of a small chapel on the property — a dedicated place for prayer and worship. The materials are already here, and we trust that in God’s time the labour will come and the chapel will be built.
Our hope is simple: that every person who comes here finds peace, renewal, and a deeper relationship with the Lord.
Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth"

The Ministry COTTAGE
Home of Salted by Grace Ministry with Karleen.
The Cottage is a warm, welcoming space created for connection, fellowship and quiet moments of rest.
Used during our retreats and gatherings, it is a place to come together around the table, share a meal, study the Word, worship, pray, talk and simply enjoy one another’s company.
There are also quieter corners to curl up with a good book, listen to music, play the guitar, watch a little television or simply sit and be.
The Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 12 people and provides a relaxed, homely space for retreats, small groups, teaching and fellowship.
The Cottage is home to Salted by Grace Ministry with Karleen — a place where old-fashioned hospitality, Christian fellowship and peaceful connection are shared with love.
THE GATHERING SPACE
A relaxed little space to pause, connect and enjoy the view.
Looking out towards the pool and ocean, this is an informal space for our guests to simply spend time. Come in for a cup of tea, sit with a book, have a chat, meet someone new or simply enjoy a quiet moment watching the world go by.
As Salty Lodge continues to evolve, this space will become a place for shared teas, casual gatherings and those lovely unplanned moments of connection that happen when people slow down.
Nothing formal. Nothing hurried. Just a comfortable place to be.
POOL & OCEAN ACCESS
Our pool is presently under construction. We hope to have this completed by end early September 2026.
Guests have access to the lagoon across the road from the lodge.
CHAPEL - Presently under prayer
Join Karleen and Derek in prayer over the construction of their small chapel. When they purchased the property, they made a decision to remove a bungalow that divided the property in two. They have keep part of this bungalow to be used as some of the frame work in the chapel yet to be constructed. Also inheriting beautiful old windows these will also be used in the chapel. Like us - making new things old. This will be nestled in a quiet area of the property. We pray that guests will enjoy this space to pray, worship, sit in stillness - we have released this to the Lord. We will post updates on social media of any updates to this prayer.
"And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places." - Isaiah 32:18
